XML-HR is specifically devoted to help implement xml in the 'real world' for those lacking 'deep XML knowledge'.
Our definition of the real world includes Companies that are not in the Fortune 500.  The small and mid-sized firms that may have six or eight people in their HR Department, but more likely one.
That one would be you.  You may not have a full HRIS system and definitely do not have time to unravel the complexities of XML.  So what is it?  Briefly, it is text that is specially formatted and by itself, does nothing.  We'll show you how to make it meaningful and accomplish specific tasks.
This site will develop specific XML usage examples using a demo WYSIWYG Editor.  You will not only see how it is used, but also be able to test.  It is for people that are not programmers- and this writer belongs in that group.Fortunate 500 companies have vast resources, along with rooms full of expert programmers.
Automatic XML Generation is what is needed for most of us, even programmers.  Although it is possible to create XML simply by typing in a text editor, it would be hopelessly inefficient.  An XML doc can easily be 100K of information - and would take many hours or days to keystroke.  I type about 12 wpm with two or three mistakes, so it would take a month.
The image (above right) is a thumbnail of a WYSIWYG XML Editor that allows anyone with modest skills to type and format text, add images, simple drawings, add data and links.  Rearranging objects (like an image) is done by simply dragging the item to its desired position.  The simple action of dragging to a new position- immediately revises the existing xml.  Save - and the next time it is opened - it will be precisely in its last, saved state.
